There is a persistent rumor that Apple is working on its own AR glasses. Now star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published a new report on iGlasses.
In the past, there has been speculation about Apple glasses. Apple's takeovers of startup companies have already shown us that Apple is actually researching in this direction and may be developing something. In addition, special personnel decisions in this area have painted a different picture. But numerous patents have also confirmed research in this direction. Of course, this does not mean that Apple will actually introduce such a product, but it can be assumed.
iGlasses – the system name is rOS
Now star analyst and Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo has released new information about Apple's upcoming product highlight. According to him, the operating system will be called "rOS" - what the glasses themselves will be called is not yet known. According to Kuo, the glasses will be presented in 2020 - a market launch could even take place in the first half of the year. The purpose of the Apple glasses is simply an extension of our environment - fans should not expect a gateway to new worlds. This also allows for a very simple design - says Kuo.
iGlasses dependent on iPhone
According to the report, the Apple glasses will follow a similar path to the Apple Watch in its early stages. That is, the iPhone processes the data and the glasses take on the role of a time display. Since today's iPhones have very powerful chips, a separate processor for the glasses can be dispensed with. What specific tasks the glasses will perform and in which areas they will actually prove useful remains to be seen. Due to the star analyst's high hit rate, such rumors are receiving particular attention. Further details on this topic may become known over the next few months.
