Apple will unveil iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS 12 at WWDC 2021 in June. Now a report has been released that provides some details about iOS 15 and the iPhone 2021.
The Apple blog iPhoneSoft claims to have learned that iOS 15 will include changes to the Control Center. In addition, a new technology will be used that enables dual biometric authentication for Touch ID and Face ID. iPhoneSoft claimed also claims to have details about the 2021 iPhone. Will it all happen? According to the report, the design of the Control Center in iOS 15 will be redesigned. To be precise, it is said to be inspired by macOS 11 Big Sur. It supposedly includes a "more compact" design, but further details are unclear. The blog also claims that Apple is working on a new API to support dual biometric authentication.
iOS 15 & iPhone 2021: Double security on request?
This would likely be limited to the 2021 iPhone, which is rumored to support both Face ID and Touch ID for the first time - at least the Pro models. This would mean that if users wanted to make their iPhone as secure as possible, they could theoretically enable both Touch ID and Face ID. The device would then only unlock if both forms of biometric authentication were successfully recognized. In addition, iPhoneSoft claims to have learned that at least one iPhone 2021 model has a terabyte of storage. This statement is in line with a forecast by WedBush analysts. On the whole, the report sounds exciting. But iPhoneSoft has a mixed track record when it comes to Apple, so the whole thing should be viewed with a large dose of skepticism.
