The iPhone 13 series has been available since Friday. But that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from speculating about future iPhone models. Now there are reports again about the iPhone 14, which is expected next year.
Bloomberg journalist and Apple leaker Mark Gurman is known to run a newsletter, which is sent out on Sundays and contains Apple rumors. A new edition was sent out today, which, among other things, covers the iPhone 14. According to his sources, Apple is planning to completely redesign the iPhone 14. According to Gurman, users can expect "new entry-level and Pro models and a complete redesign" for the iPhone 14, because "the small changes this year also mean that Apple's engineers have been working on bigger things behind the scenes that will take more time."
iPhone 14 could get a "punch-hole design"
This is not the first time that it has been claimed that Apple is planning a complete redesign for the iPhone 14 series. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already stated that Apple will completely do away with the notch in 2022, starting with the high-end iPhone 14 Pro. Kuo describes the design change as a "punch-hole design," if you can call it that. Such a design is already used in high-end Android devices. Interestingly, YouTuber and tech leaker Jon Prosser has also reported something similar. He also claimed to have seen pictures of a prototype of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Based on this, he had corresponding renderings made. In addition to the design change, there have been rumors for several months that Apple will abandon the mini model next year.

Will Apple abandon the mini model in 2022?
There will be an iPhone 14, a Max model and the two well-known Pro versions. As far as size is concerned, two 6.1-inch and two 6.7-inch devices are planned. But Kuo warned in the course of all the reporting that Apple is in the middle of development and may not be ready. If this happens, the changes can be expected in 2023 at the latest. But what will happen after 2023? If the analyst is to be believed, the era of folding will begin in 2024. According to him, the first foldable iPhone is expected in 2024. Regarding foldable iPhones, Mark Gurman also said that Apple is developing its own foldable devices that "could appear in a few years". The statement supports Kuo's speculations.
