Apple has had to deal with the effects of the coronavirus since the beginning of February. Production problems and delivery bottlenecks are the result. Now replacement iPhones are also said to be in short supply.
How much Apple is dependent on China can be seen quite clearly these days. Bloomberg is now reporting that Apple has already warned its own technicians that the stock of replacement iPhones could become scarce in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, there are already isolated Apple stores that hardly have any spare parts left. This is what the report:
Production is slow to get off to a good start
The shortage of iPhone repair parts is one of the first visible effects of the virus on Apple's operations. As Bloomberg News recently reported, the company has begun to see shortages for the iPad Pro while supply for the iPhone 11 has tightened slightly internationally. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant has also restricted employee travel to China, South Korea and Italy and encouraged sick employees to take vacations. Apple is also asking employees to hold meetings virtually.
Assembly partners such as Foxconn have already resumed operations, but production is currently limited. It will be some time before the individual plants return to normal operations. (Photo by Poravute Siriphiroon / Bigstockphoto)
