The closer the presentation gets, the more rumors are emerging about the iPhone 12 series. Now images have been discovered on the Internet that show a circular arrangement of magnets in the chassis. What exactly does that mean?
On Chinese social media platform New images have been published on Weibo that can be attributed to the iPhone 12 – according to the statement. Discovered The whole thing was created by Youtuber EverythingApplePro. The images show a circular arrangement of magnets housed in an "iPhone 12" case. A total of 36 individual magnets can be seen. It is not known whether they are related to the assembly or a charging process. The Youtuber believes that the iPhone 12 series is "probably perfectly matched to Apple's wireless chargers". He is referring to the as yet unreleased AirPower.

Wireless PowerShare in iPhone 12?
Apple introduced its own charging mat in 2017, which never went into production due to technical problems and was canceled in March 2019. But rumors that Apple is working on a new version have been with us for months. This means that some now believe that the back of the devices could be specially designed for the new accessories. But there are also voices that express a different assumption - Wireless PowerShare. The iPhone 11 series was already rumored to be able to get the Wireless PowerShare function (bilateral charging), which was already built into the Samsung Galaxy S10. This means that users could charge accessories such as AirPods and the like on the back of the smartphone. But Apple has never officially confirmed the feature. To this day, it is claimed that all iPhone 11 devices have the necessary hardware, but that the function was deactivated by Apple on the software side because the charging efficiency did not meet the requirements.
iPhone 12 could get revised hardware
In fact, there is a clue that iFixit found in the teardown at the time. At that time, the repair specialists:
When the phone is on, we disconnected the bottom battery connector and the phone stayed on and charged via the Lightning port, but not wireless charging. Seems like this extra connector is a direct connection to the wireless charging coil, which could be an important feature for bilateral charging. When we reconnected the cable, our phone displayed a brief temperature warning before returning to normal. We suspect it lost contact with a key battery temperature sensor and that's why it's shutting itself off; this sounds a lot like a backwards wireless charging thermal management feature to us.

There are also leakers who also claim that the feature has simply been deactivated. Now the new iPhone generation could receive revised hardware for the function. Alternatively, the whole thing could also have a special connection to AirPower. But that remains open for now - apart from that, the images could also just be a fake, as the authenticity cannot currently be confirmed. Therefore, it remains pure speculation for now.
