Gurman explained that prototypes of Apple's headset resemble a smaller version of Facebook's Oculus Quest. But these are lighter and slimmer. In an internal meeting, Apple is said to have said that the headset could be announced in 2021 and released in 2022, while the glasses will not be released until 2023 at the earliest. Gurman claimed that Apple's glasses can display information such as text messages and maps in front of the wearer's eyes. Users will also be able to control the product with Siri.
