Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will not introduce new mini-LED screens in 2022 due to cost reasons, although other analysts claim a "Studio Display Pro" is still to come.
The launch of the 5K Apple Studio Display was preceded by supply chain rumors claiming the screen would be 7K capable. In fact, that was a mistake. But that doesn't mean Apple isn't working on a second external display. Such a screen could be a replacement for the Pro Display XDR, which was introduced over two years ago. If so, it could also have 120Hz ProMotion and a mini-LED backlight.
For cost reasons: No “Studio Display Pro” in 2022?
But right here sees Ming-Chi Kuo a potential problem.
Due to cost reasons, Apple may not launch any new mini-LED products this year.
At the same time, however, analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants claims that such a higher-quality monitor is still planned for June 2022. Young claims that production has already begun. Accordingly, the two analysts are currently at odds. Of course, it remains to be seen who will be right in the end. (Image: Apple)
