Rumors about the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE 2 have already been documented. But now there are new details about the specifications.
In his “Power On” newsletter speaks Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman on what to expect from the new watches - interestingly, less than originally thought. Previously, it was reported that the Apple Watch Series 8 would receive the brand new S8 chip. The problem with that, however, is that the chip will, according to Gurman, "have the same specs as the S7." And here's the catch: the S7 chip is the same as the S6 that was introduced with the Apple Watch Series 6 in 2020. That means the Apple Watch Series 8 will be just as fast as the Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch Series 6.
Apple Watch Series 8 and more: Launch in September
According to Gurman, the Apple Watch Series 9 will be the first to receive a completely new processor next year. As for the Apple Watch SE 2, the display size will remain the same.
The SE will keep the screen size of the current model and won't step up to the larger Series 7 model. But it could get the same S8 chip as the Series 8, an upgrade from the S5 in the current 2020 SE.
