Apple will hold its next big event in less than two weeks and will unveil the iPhone 14 series. The Apple Watch Series 8 is also expected. Now there are new rumors about the alleged Pro model.
Numerous rumors have reported about a brand new Apple Watch model. In addition to an update of the Apple Watch Series 8 and the current Apple Watch SE, there will also be an Apple Watch Pro. The new model, presumably the Apple Watch Pro, will be larger and more robust than the other models and will be aimed at extreme athletes. In a Contribution Macotakara now says that the new Pro model will be 7 inches larger than the largest regular Apple Watch model. One cited report mentions the use of a 1.99-inch display. An evolution of the current rectangular shape with a "less rounded design" is also expected, including a flat display.
Apple Watch Series 8: Many conflicting reports
A report from China says that "one more thing" was added when the iPhone was launched in 2017 and that a similar trick could be used on the Apple Watch. The same sources explain the use of a flat display in the model, complete with a metal case "like the iPhone 13 Pro" and that it will only be available in a 47mm size. Previous reports on the so-called Apple Watch Pro include a completely new design with titanium for greater strength as well as a major design update. However, other leaks from early August mention that the Apple Watch Series 8 will not benefit from a major redesign. What we will actually see in the end remains to be seen.
