While rumors about new iPhones are omnipresent, details about the next generation of Apple Watch are scarce.
The Apple Watch Series 5 was introduced almost two months ago - but the new model is of little interest to Series 4 owners. The innovations that could motivate a purchase have been too few this year. The next generation Apple Watch should be all the more interesting. The well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims to have found out new details about the sixth generation of the popular smartwatch. Kuo claims that the Apple Watch Series 6 will have significantly more power and support faster wireless transmission. According to him, the upcoming watch should offer faster WiFi and cellular speeds. He also believes that the next Apple Watch will have improved water resistance. The use of new material should make these improvements possible - according to the analyst.
What are the benefits of improved waterproofing?
The Apple Watch has been waterproof since the second generation and is therefore suitable for swimming and showering. According to the certificate, the previous models are waterproof up to 50 meters. However, they are not suitable for water sports. This could change with the Apple Watch Series 6. According to Kuo, this could therefore receive certification for water sports activities. It is generally expected that Apple will equip the next generation of watches with more features – a presentation of the new watch will most likely take place in September 2020.
