Rumors about new Apple Watch models are usually very rare – but not this year. Now a leaker has mentioned the Apple Watch Series 6 again.
According to current reports, the Apple Watch Series 6 could be a future panic attacks and intervene in time. It is also said that it is possible to measure the oxygen saturation in the blood. But what about the display? The well-informed and anonymous Twitter account @L0vetodream apparently already wants to know. According to his latest Twitter post, the Apple Watch Series 6 will also use the same display as the Series 5. Accordingly, the new smartwatch will again have an OLED display. Previous reports have suggested that Apple is planning to switch to MicroLED. However, the time frame was never specified. MicroLED technology is said to be new display panels developed by Apple itself. The advantage of this technology is that the Apple Watch is slimmer and has a brighter screen while consuming less power.
First prototypes were documented in 2017
According to individual reports, these panels are also planned for later iPhone generations. However, the Apple Watch will be the first to be equipped with this display technology. If @L0vetodream is right, Apple's new development does not seem to be ready for the market yet. Work on MicroLEDs began in 2017 - that was when Apple Watch prototypes with corresponding panels were first reported. Apple's progress should therefore already be further along. Since @L0vetodream has a remarkable success rate in the area of Apple leaks, it can be assumed that he will be right in this case too.
