Rumors that Apple is working on a new Apple TV model have been circulating for many months. Now a picture has been released that is said to show the brand new remote control.
If the rumors are to be believed, the Apple TV 6 will have a brand new remote control that is said to be significantly better than its predecessor. The US blog 9to5mac recently reported that the new accessory is known internally under the code name B519. Now 9to5Mac received an exclusive image that is supposed to show the new Apple TV remote. If the image is real, the new version of the remote will be very different from the current model, which is basically an ultra-thin remote made of aluminum and glass with a few buttons and a touch surface. The new remote, on the other hand, will have many more buttons and a navigation wheel similar to the first Apple TV remote. For example, there are new buttons for skipping channels, muting the TV, opening the program guide and an on/off button.

Apple TV 6: New remote control as an alternative?
The new remote also looks much larger than the Siri Remote included with the current generations of Apple TV. Although this is said to be the new remote being developed by Apple, it may not completely replace the Siri Remote. As reported by iGeneration As previously hinted, Apple is reportedly working on offering a new Apple TV Remote for cable customers. This could mean that the Apple TV will continue to ship with the Siri Remote, but Apple will offer an alternative remote with physical buttons for those who don't like touch interactions. It is not yet known when the new device and accessories might be unveiled. However, since tvOS 14.5 contains some hints about it, it could be that a new Apple TV is coming soon.
