Apple closed all retail stores outside China on March 14 closedThe company wanted to reduce the further spread of the novel coronavirus.
At the time of the closure, Apple stated that the stores would remain closed until March 27th. However, this information was revised by a new Notice "Our retail stores are closed until further notice." Now VentureBeat reports that Apple's retail chief, Deirdre O'Brien, has promised employees that the stores will reopen in the first half of April. The report:
As Apple's senior VP, O'Brien is responsible for both retail operations and employees who have been scattered from Apple's Cupertino headquarters to work from home following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease COVID-19. O'Brien told employees that the company will extend its work-from-home policies through at least April 5 and will reevaluate those policies weekly based on employees' locations.
Accordingly, home office is to last at least until April 5. However, as part of the reopening, not all stores will be operational at the same time. This means that locations that are particularly affected by COVID-19 will remain closed. (Photo by DevinQuotes / Bigstockphoto)
