Before Apple develops a foldable iPhone, the company wants to launch a foldable iPad in 2024.
The analysts at CCS Insight (via CNBC), Apple plans to use a foldable iPad in 2024 as a test run for the foldable technology before bringing it to the iPhone. Ben Wood, head of research at CCS Insight, said in an interview with CNBC that in the current situation, it "doesn't make sense" for Apple to make a foldable iPhone.
Foldable iPad could offer around 20-inch display
We believe the company will buck this trend and dip a toe in the water with a foldable iPad.
According to reliable display analyst Ross Young, Apple is testing a foldable iPad display that will be around 20-inches in size and expects the device to launch in 2026 or 2027. Foldable devices have become increasingly popular in recent years. Companies like Samsung have already launched several versions of foldable devices. Apple is said to be working with LG to develop an ultra-thin cover glass that could be used for the company's foldable products. The exact form factor of a foldable iPad, including whether it will be a hybrid between an iPhone and an iPad, is still unclear. (Photo by kamils / Bigstockphoto)
