In the run-up to the “Spring Loaded” event that will take place next week, rumors keep surfacing that mention an Apple Pencil 3.
A Twitter user has posted a video on the short message service published, which is said to show the Apple Pencil 3. The material allegedly comes from Apple's supply chain. Interestingly, it confirms an image that was published a few weeks ago. Based on the leaks we've seen so far, the Apple Pencil 3 seems to be very similar to the second-generation Apple Pencil. However, there is one important change: the new Apple stylus again features a glossy finish. As a reminder, the first-generation Apple Pencil features a glossy design and is charged via a Lightning connector. Apple still sells the first-generation Apple Pencil for the iPad mini and the entry-level 9.7-inch iPad.

Apple Pencil 3 could combine design of first and second generation
However, with the iPad Pro 2018, Apple introduced the second generation of the Apple Pencil with a matte design and the ability to magnetically attach it to the side of the iPad Pro for pairing and charging. The feature is also supported by the iPad Air introduced last year. The alleged Apple Pencil 3 appears to combine these two designs. That is, it appears to have a flat edge so that it can be magnetically attached to the iPad Air and iPad Pro for charging. At the same time, it has a glossy surface. If the images and video show the real third-generation Apple Pencil, only the design would now be known. The functionality remains a mystery. However, it is safe to assume that Apple has improved the sensors. Whether there will be new features remains to be seen. (Photo by Unsplash / Howard Bouchevereau)
