Apple Pay was introduced in Germany on December 11, 2018. With Apple's payment service, the iPhone and Apple Watch can replace debit or credit cards. Now Austria will finally be able to enjoy mobile payment.
The time has now finally come in the Alpine republic too - the prepaid credit card provider Boon announced it via Facebook at the end of March. Shortly after Boon's announcement, a message from "Erste Bank und Sparkasse" followed. It remains to be seen which financial institutions will follow. According to the Austrian Standard, it should start tomorrow - an official confirmation from Apple is still pending.
