A major leak about the iPhone 12, HomePod Mini, and more has been published on the Chinese-language platform Weibo. Additional information relates to a new iPhone case and two wireless chargers that include MagSafe.
Many users are mourning the good “old” MagSafe technology. But that could soon be over. In addition to the iPhone 12 and HomePod Mini, the Weibo leaker has also revealed interesting details about the MagSafe technology. According to the report, Apple is planning to introduction a new magnetic iPhone case and wireless charging accessories. The two chargers will be introduced under the names "MagSafe Charger" and "MagSafe Duo Charger", with one or both having an output of 15 watts.
“Hi, Speed” event remains exciting
The reintroduction of the "MagSafe" brand will appeal to many fans who remember Apple's magnetically attached MagSafe power connector, which first appeared on MacBook Pro models in 2006 but, despite its popularity, was eventually discontinued in all Apple product lines between 2016 and 2019 and replaced by USB-C. In August, images were shared on Weibo showing the inside of the iPhone 12 back. A circular arrangement of magnets can be seen. At the time, there was speculation as to whether these were integrated specifically for Apple's upcoming charging mat. If today's information is correct, this is likely. Accordingly, despite today's leaks, the "Hi, Speed" event should remain exciting. (Photo by oasisamuel / Bigstockphoto)
