The rumor that Apple plans to introduce several products with mini-LEDs in the next 20 months is not new. But now, for the first time, there are more concrete details.
Well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has sent a note to investors discussing future Apple products with mini-LEDs. According to the report, Apple is currently working on the following products: a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a 27-inch iMac Pro, a 14.1-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 10.2-inch iPad and a 7.9-inch iPad mini. According to Kuo, six of these devices will be released with mini-LEDs. While some will debut this year, others will follow next year. According to Kuo, Apple plans to introduce the new iMac Pro at the end of 2020 - the iPad mini will also be updated in the same period. He did not provide any further details. According to his information, product research and development of mini-LEDs will remain unaffected by the coronavirus.
The new MacBook Pro 14.1-inch
But the most interesting thing is the supposed MacBook Pro 14.1-inch. Apple introduced a new MacBook Pro with a revised keyboard and Touch Bar at the end of 2019. However, this has a 16-inch instead of 15.4-inch display. Previous rumors have already predicted a change to the smaller MacBook Pro. However, a specific screen diagonal was not given. When the new product will actually be released was not mentioned. It is suspected that Apple will introduce a small MacBook Pro this month. It is not known whether this will be the mini-LED device - but it is doubtful. (Photo by alexey_boldin / Bigstockphoto)
