The possible collaboration between Apple and Hyundai or Kia is allegedly not limited to the Apple Car. This is according to a new report.
In recent weeks, reports have increasingly surfaced regarding a possible collaboration between Apple and Hyundai or Kia. The focus was primarily on the Apple Car. However, both car manufacturers have explainedthat the talks have ended. But this only relates to one of many products. As Reuters reports, the online site Chosun Biz claims that Apple and Hyundai/Kia signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" last year in which they agreed to work together on products in eight different areas, including work on electric vehicles. is called it at Reuters:
Apple & Hyundai: Transport methods on the "last mile"
Even if the negotiations on electric vehicles fail, there are many points that can be negotiated in other areas, so we are still optimistic about the possibility of a partnership between the two sides," Chosun quoted an unidentified source familiar with the negotiations between Hyundai and Apple as saying.
Kevin Yoo, an analyst at eBEST Investment & Securities, agrees with Chosun and believes that Apple and Kia are open to many other partnerships.
The media report on the Kia-Apple cooperation does not negate Hyundai's statement earlier this month, as the statement was limited to a specific point.
In addition to the possibility of an actual partnership on electric vehicles, the two companies are also reportedly talking about collaborating on solutions for "last mile" transportation methods - i.e. an electric scooter. So the whole thing should certainly remain exciting. (Photo by ricochet64 / Bigstockphoto)
