There are rumors that Apple will introduce at least one iMac with a brand new design this year. Now there are reports that the company has stopped production of certain models.
According to a new report, Apple has stopped producing the 512 gigabyte and 1 terabyte flash media configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac. If the information is correct, a new iMac could appear sooner than previously thought, the reported AppleInsider. The blog cites a long-time source who is familiar with Apple's supply chain. According to him, the two versions in question are no longer being manufactured. Interestingly, the iMac 4K models in question are also no longer available on Apple's website listedThe 256 GB SSD model and the 1 TB Fusion Drive model are still available, albeit with a certain waiting period.
Brand new design reminiscent of Pro Display XDR
Considering that other iMac 4K models are currently available, it is unclear why Apple has stopped production of the two models. It is possible that the company is planning to update the lineup sooner. So far, sources have reported that new iMac models will be released in the second half of the year. Of course, the whole thing could have a completely different background. If the rumors are to be believed, Apple wants to update both the 21.5- and 27-inch models.
