Apple is developing new iPad Pro, Mac and Apple TV models, and at least some of those products will launch in October, according to Mark Gurman. However, Gurman still believes Apple is unlikely to hold an event that month.
In the latest edition of his newsletter “Power On” said Gurman said that "last month's big iPhone 14 reveal was likely the last big presentation for Apple in 2022," and hinted that all iPad, Mac, and Apple TV product launches will be announced with press releases, media briefings, and updates on the Apple online store. Last week, Gurman reported that new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini models with M2-series chips will "most likely" launch before the end of 2022.
Touch ID in the iPhone 15 is also considered unlikely
He also said that an updated Apple TV with an A14 chip and 4GB more memory is "getting closer and could potentially launch later this year." Gurman also writes that Apple has been testing under-screen Touch ID for the past few years. But he doesn't expect Touch ID to return anytime soon for the iPhone 15 or other flagship models. Gurman can imagine a new iPhone SE with a Touch ID power button on the side, but he hasn't "heard anything about that actually being in the pipeline." (Image: Apple)
