Apple's own credit card was introduced last year. The Apple Card is currently only available in the USA. But that could change very soon.
I haven't reported much about the Apple Card in recent months because there was nothing relevant to it. But now things are looking a little different. The US blog MacRumors has listed a number of clues that suggest that the Apple Card will be available in more countries very soon. A source who claims to be close to an Australian banking company involved in supporting Apple Card in Australia told MacRumors that Apple Card will be introduced in several new regions starting later this year. The release could take place under iOS 14.1, iOS 14.2 or iOS 14.3. In addition, Apple recently advertised several new positions as Apple Card Product Manager. According to this, the company is looking to strengthen its team in this area. Perhaps to expand?
Apple Card: Will Apple announce details at the Time Flies event?
But that’s not all. MacRumors has discovered indications in the code of iOS 14 (8th beta) that changes have been made to the General Data Protection Regulation under EU law. Specifically, adjustments have been made in the areas of data protection and privacy. However, the significance of this change is not clear. On the one hand, there is the possibility that Apple is actually preparing to introduce the Apple Card in EU markets - on the other hand, however, the whole thing could be something completely different. It is already certain that Apple wants to expand the credit card to other countries, including Germany. Cupertino confirmed this a few months ago. So the whole thing remains exciting as always. The company may announce details at the next keynote. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now. (Image: Apple)
