There have been reports about Apple's AirTags for many months. Now a leaker has spoken out and answered the question about the price.
The well-known and reliable leaker Max Weinbach (via EverythingApplePro / YouTube) has now explained that the AirTags will be available in a size of 32mm x 32mm x 6mm. This makes Apple's trackers slightly smaller than Samsung's Galaxy SmartTags (39mm x 39mm x 9mm) and slightly larger than a Tile tracker (27mm x 7.3mm). Originally, leaker L0vetodream promised AirTags in two different sizes. But he didn't give any reasons for this. Based on images found in an internal build of iOS 13, AirTags are small, round, white tags with an Apple logo on the front. They are likely attached to objects with adhesive or an attachment point such as a ring. Of course, there could be multiple ways to attach them to different objects.
How much will the new trackers cost?
But now to the question of questions. There has been plenty of speculation about pricing in the past. Now Weinbach wants an answer. The leaker claims that the AirTags will cost around $39. As a reminder: Samsung's SmartTags cost $29.99. However, he could not provide any information regarding the market launch. Based on recent notes However, in the code of iOS 14.5, some observers believe that Apple could soon introduce the new tracking accessory. Whether that will be the case this time remains to be seen.
What exactly are AirTags?
But some fans still ask the question, what are AirTags? So as a reminder: Apple's AirTags are small trackers that can be attached to various objects - as already described above. This accessory is by no means a new invention. But Apple wants to market them as a useful accessory - so they should have more to offer than competing products such as Tile or Adero - at least on a design level. Probably the biggest advantage is the deep integration into Apple devices. This makes management much easier. Whether macOS, iOS or iPadOS - the "Find My" app is available on all three systems.
