There are plenty of rumors about AirPods X, which are supposed to be a mix of AirPods Pro and Beats X. But explicit equipment details have not been mentioned so far - at least not until today.
The Taiwanese news site DigiTimes is known for having sources from Apple's supplier circles - even if these are not particularly reliable when it comes to dates, information on specifications was often correct. At the beginning of the year, there was speculation that Apple was planning a new AirPods Pro as a Lite version. But what could be the new "Lite" model? According to speculation, it is conceivable that new AirPods Pro Lite will appear without ANC feature, i.e. without active noise cancellation. Now the DigiTimes have learned from suppliers that the new AirPods X will indeed be in the same design as the AirPods Pro, but will be available without ANC functionality. They were originally supposed to launch in May - but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is delaying the whole thing.
AirPods 3 innovations remain a mystery
The news site claims to have learned over the past few weeks that the market launch has been postponed until the end of the year. However, this statement was confirmed yesterday in a separate retract reportThe latest information says that a launch of the new AirPods X (Pro) is even conceivable in early 2021. Apple has not yet made any adjustments to the schedule. This means, as always, anything is possible. In addition to the slimmed down version of the AirPods Pro, a third generation of the classic AirPods is also expected. This could be presented as early as May. What innovations this could include is completely unclear. You don't have AirPods yet and don't want to wait?
