Mass production of the third-generation AirPods will begin in August, according to a new report from Nikkei Asia. The earbuds will reportedly join a number of other products such as the iPhone 13 lineup and redesigned MacBook Pro models due out later this year.
Rumors surrounding the launch of the third generation of AirPods have been with us all year. Some reports have suggested a launch in the first half of the year, while other sources spoke of fall 2021. With the start of mass production (via Nikkei Asia) next month, a market launch could take place as early as September together with the new iPhones.
AirPods 3: Can we expect new features?
Of course, Apple can also introduce the product at a later date. According to rumors, the third generation AirPods will have a similar design to the current AirPods Pro. It is currently unclear whether they will also have silicone attachments. The reports are contradictory in this regard. However, the AirPods 3 will not have features such as noise cancellation - that much is clear. Whether they will be given new features remains to be seen. (Photo by Unsplash / Nathan De Fortunato)
