According to a long-standing rumor, Apple has begun producing panels for a 15.5-inch MacBook Air and is aiming for an early April release.
Display analyst Ross Young said in December that the larger MacBook Air would be released in spring 2023. In a new tweet to his super followers confirmed he now reports that panel production for the larger MacBook Air began this month and the product is set to hit the market in April. Rumors of a 15-inch MacBook Air have been around since 2021. But apart from the larger screen size, not much is known about the device. However, it could be equipped with the next generation of Apple Silicon - for example, with an M3 chip. As a reminder, Apple supplier TSMC began mass production of a 3-nanometer chip process at the end of December.

The new MacBook Air could also feature a MagSafe 3 port for charging, rather than just a USB-C port. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also leaked details about a future 15-inch MacBook Air in the past. Kuo believes it will not enter production until late 2023 and will be called MacBook instead of MacBook Air. Ross Young has a good track record, especially when it comes to display production predictions. Several rumors from various sources could point to the actual release of the new device, although there is no guarantee of this until Apple actually announces the product. (Image: Apple)
