The YouTube Kids app is a child-friendly version of YouTube – now the application is also available on Apple TV.
The wait is over. Google has released the child-friendly version of YouTube on Apple TV - this is according to a support document. YouTube Kids offers parents the opportunity to have more control over the content that their children can / should see. The app has already been released on Android TV and some selected Smart TV devices. Now the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K are also among the supported devices. The application can be run with or without a Google account and is available in around 80 countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You can find a detailed list of all countries here. Currently supported devices include:
With "Hey Siri" support
- Apple TV – Gen 4/Gen 5 4k
- 2015 – 2017 LG webOS TVs
- 2013 – 2017 Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-Ray players that have access to the Samsung App Store

Google explains in a separate Contribution the use of the app as follows:
Once you download the app on your Apple TV (4K or HD), you can choose whether you want to sign up or not. If you want to sign up, just follow the prompts on your TV and enjoy. To open the app, you can use the Siri Remote and say, "Hey Siri, open YouTube Kids."
When you sign in to the app on your TV, your parental controls and settings will carry over to the YouTube Kids experience on Apple TV. If you want to change any of your settings, you can do so in the app on a tablet or phone.
Since the app is currently being rolled out, not every user may have access to it right away. However, YouTube Kids should be available to everyone in the Apple TV App Store in the next few hours.
