With the launch of the developer betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple has taken the first step toward integrating Apple Intelligence. While many useful features are already available, some enhancements that Apple will introduce at a later date are missing. Below, you'll learn all about the Apple Intelligence features that aren't yet included in the betas.
First introduced at WWDC in June, Apple Intelligence represents Apple's vision of advanced artificial intelligence. These features are designed to revolutionize your user experience and increase the efficiency of your daily tasks. While the current beta version already offers many impressive features, some of the most exciting features are not yet available. Here's an overview of these missing features and what you can expect in future updates.
Image Playground and Genmoji
The standalone Image Playground app and its integration with apps like Notes and Messages are not currently included in the iOS 18.1 beta. This feature allows you to insert images into your notes based on context and work creatively with visual content. Genmoji, a feature based on Image Playground that creates personalized emojis, will also be available later.
Image Wall
Image Wand is another exciting feature based on Image Playground. Image Wand allows you to insert images directly into your notes by selecting them based on context. This feature will also only be available once Image Playground is integrated into the beta version.
priority notifications
Priority notifications are designed to show the most important messages at the top of your notification stack. This feature also groups incoming notifications together so you can sort through them more quickly. This feature is currently not in beta.
email categories
The feature for automatically categorizing incoming emails, which helps you manage your messages more efficiently, is also missing in the current beta. This extension will help you keep track of your emails and find important messages faster in the future.
Photos: Cleanup tool
Although the Memory Maker feature is active in the Photos app, it lacks the Clean Up tool that allows you to remove unwanted objects from your images. This feature will be added later and will allow you to edit and enhance your photos even better.
Siri extensions
The Siri features that provide better screen attention, personal context, and the ability to perform more actions in and between apps are not yet available. In addition, the integration of ChatGPT into Siri has not yet been implemented. These enhancements will make Siri even more powerful and easier to use.
support for additional languages
Currently, Apple Intelligence is only available in US English, but Apple plans to add support for more languages in future updates to make the features accessible to a wider user base.
expansion to other platforms
Apple has announced that the Apple Intelligence feature set will be expanded to more platforms in the future. This means that you will soon be able to take advantage of the new AI features on other Apple devices.
Apple Intelligence will get even better with future updates
Apple Intelligence in the developer betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1 already offers many useful features, but some of the most exciting enhancements are still missing. These will be introduced in future updates and promise to further improve the user experience. Stay tuned for upcoming updates and the full integration of Apple Intelligence, which will make your Apple device even more powerful and intuitive. Looking for accessories from top brands?
