Some people like writing and others prefer dictating voice recordings. But many people like talking on the phone even more. Over two billion minutes a day - that's what WhatsApp writes in its blog. We've been waiting for this for a long time - now it's finally here.
WhatsApp enables group conversations and video conferences. Both are of course end-to-end encrypted. Up to four users can take part in a conference call, whether it is an audio or video call. To start such a conversation, a group member has to call one of their contacts, then two more members can be added using a plus symbol in the top right corner. This function has only been available in the beta version since May of this year. Now the developers are gradually rolling out this feature to everyone, iOS and Android users, worldwide. WhatsApp also promises good voice quality, no matter which network the users are on. It is also emphasized that the end-to-end encryption means that neither WhatsApp nor the parent company Facebook can listen in.
