About five years ago, WhatsApp introduced the ability to delete sent messages. While this feature is very useful in some cases, it is not helpful in every situation.
We've all been there: you reply to a WhatsApp message and shortly after sending it you realise that you made a typo. What now? Most people delete the message, correct the text and send it again. The problem is that WhatsApp lets the other user know that you've deleted a message. But that could soon be over.
WhatsApp: Editing sent text messages soon possible
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on the possibility of sending a text message in a future update to edit. At the moment, the publication assumes that WhatsApp will not include an edit history to check previous versions of edited messages. However, since the useful feature is still in the works, plans may change. It is also not yet clear in which time frame users will be able to edit their message. For example, when WhatsApp introduced the function to delete a sent message, users were informed that their time frame was seven minutes. Since the new feature is currently still in development, it will be some time before we can all enjoy it. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
