WhatsApp has introduced a new group chat feature for beta users on iOS that allows group administrators to delete messages from other participants.
WhatsApp has been working hard on its group chat features in recent updates, including the latest beta. Now reported WABetaInfo says that beta testers who have been granted the "Delete as group admin" permission can now remove any message from a chat group they are an admin in using the new "Delete for everyone" option in the delete menu. When a message is deleted for everyone in the group, group members will be notified in the thread that a specific group admin removed the message.
WhatsApp: Moderation of groups is improved
Also new in the current beta version is the optional ability to display status updates within the chat list. Similar to WhatsApp Stories, WhatsApp users can use status updates to post photos and videos in the app that disappear after 24 hours. As usual, WhatsApp has not provided any information on when these new features will be available to the public. With the last major update, WhatsApp users were given the option to set the visibility of their "Last Seen" status for each individual contact and to silently leave group chats without notifying all members of the group.
