Many of you are eagerly waiting for the dark mode in WhatsApp and Facebook. Now there is good news. The dark mode is currently being tested in the beta of WhatsApp for iOS.
A few days ago, dark mode was integrated into the WhatsApp beta for Android. Now it seems it's the iOS version's turn. Since Tuesday, individual reports have been documented that the new WhatsApp beta will include dark mode. However, this has not been rolled out to beta testers across the board, as the well-known WhatsApp blog WABetaInfo reports on Twitter. According to this, only a few testers currently have access to it. However, according to the blog, the function should be available to all beta testers in around 10 days. This means that the coveted dark mode is in its final phase. Because here, the following applies: When new functions are added to the beta, they are usually almost ready and appear in the final version just a few weeks later. This means that the feature should be within reach. Of course, there are exceptions - but let's just be optimistic.
How to activate Dark Mode in WhatsApp
At the moment, the dark mode in WhatsApp seems to work like it does on Instagram or on our own website. This means that it is based on the user's current system settings. If the dark mode is activated system-wide in iOS, WhatsApp adapts its own appearance to this. There is no separate switch. We have also deactivated this, as automatic adjustment is much more convenient and innovative. Of course, a menu for manual adjustment could also appear in the final version. Since this is the case with the Android version, we should not rule out this addition. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
