The blog WaBetaInfo regularly reports on current beta versions of WhatsApp. As part of this reporting, fans regularly get a taste of upcoming features.
Active WhatsApp users have been calling for an iPad version for years - in vain. The developers always emphasized that they only wanted to offer the service on smartphones - but at some point "WhatsApp Web" was introduced. If the smartphone and the respective PC are on the same WiFi network, the user can use a QR code to link the WhatsApp account to their computer and access all chats and functions of the messenger. Now WhatsApp is finally set to be released for the iPad - of course nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
No differences to the smartphone version
However, the blog WaBetaInfo has already taken part in the closed test phase and was able to confirm that the service has been running perfectly on Apple's tablet for weeks. WhatsApp for iPads is therefore coming. According to the blog, the service works as a standalone app and includes all the functions that are currently available for smartphones - the setup is exactly the same as on an iPhone. The interface also seems to be the same - landscape mode has also been taken into account.
It is currently unknown when the final version of WhatsApp for iPads will be rolled out. WhatsApp Business for iPhone is here – private users also benefit.
