WhatsApp is providing TestFlight beta program users with a new privacy feature that gives them more control over their privacy.
Loud WABetaInfo The privacy feature, which was previously announced but not yet available, is now being rolled out to participants in the WhatsApp TestFlight program. But even then, it is not yet available to all beta users. The new feature gives users more control over who can see various aspects of their profile, such as when they were last online, their profile photo, and the "About" section.
WhatsApp: New privacy features give users more control
Users can choose between “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” “My Contacts Except…,” and “Nobody.” However, there are a few things to note about the current implementation of the new feature, the report points out.
- People who have an outdated version of WhatsApp or who have not enabled the feature will not be able to see your information even if you exclude them.
- If you exclude some contacts from seeing your "Last Seen," you will no longer be able to see their "Last Seen" status.
- It is possible to see the last seen status of excluded contacts, but this is a bug.
Since these new privacy options are now being integrated into the public beta, it shouldn't be too long before all users can access them. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
