WhatsApp is testing a new feature in its mobile apps that will allow users to see how long it takes to download or upload a file attachment. This change has already been made in the desktop versions of the apps. Now the whole thing will be extended to the mobile versions as well.
The new feature is currently available to some WhatsApp beta testers and is sure to be rolled out to the public version of the app soon. The new feature allows those who upload or download files to see when the transfer will be completed. Those who send or receive large files will benefit as WhatsApp also prepares for file transfers of up to 2GB in size. In a new report WABetaInfo says that the change will be rolled out to both iOS and Android beta testers.
WhatsApp is working on several innovations
As you can see in the attached screenshot, we upload a document and there is a new ETA indicator in the chat bubble under the document name. This information tells us when the document should be fully sent or downloaded to our device. This feature is very useful, especially for the beta testers in Argentina who can share documents up to 2GB.

Apart from that, WhatsApp is working on a few other features. One of them will be the ability to react to messages. While it was initially known that the app would only get six reactions, WABetaInfo has found that a beta version of WhatsApp for Android is already testing an improved version of this feature that will allow users to react with any emoji they feel like - just like Instagram's direct messages.
