Apple has announced this evening the third beta of iOS 13.1 and iPadOS for public participants of the beta program. Now Cupertino has submitted the Golden Master of watchOS 6.
Apple announced last night that Golden Master version of iOS 13 released – now this is also available for watchOS 6. The new smartwatch operating system will be released on September 19th for the Apple Watch Series 3 and 4. Owners of the Series 1 and 2 will have to be patient – Apple has promised a later release for these models.
New in watchOS 6
The Apple Watch is getting a new look under watchOS 6. On the way to greater independence from the iPhone, the popular smartwatch is getting its own app store for the first time. This will be available as a standalone app on the Apple Watch. Search queries can be controlled by Siri. There will also be individual app recommendations. watchOS apps will also become more independent of the iPhone itself - in the future they can be managed directly via the Apple Watch - read more here.
More for your health
Apple itself provides applications for voice notes, audio live streams and a calculator. The Health app is also being expanded under watchOS 6. The Apple Watch can now track the menstrual cycle. Users will receive a discreet notification when their period starts. Menstrual cycle tracking will also be available without an Apple Watch - the feature will therefore be included in the Health app of iOS 13. The Activity app will get a new function called Activity Trends, which allows you to compare your own progress over time with the past.
New dials and complications
The new Noise app uses the Apple Watch microphone to monitor ambient noise - users receive a notification if the decibel level is too high. Apple emphasizes that no audio files are recorded or stored to protect your privacy. There are also, of course, new watch faces and complications.
Among other things, you can select a new infograph or a solar watch - there is also an audio book complication. The new watchOS 6 will be available to all users in the fall. Are you planning to buy a new Apple Watch? We help you in the decision. (Image: Apple)
