As expected, Apple has introduced the new operating system watchOS 6. In addition to new watch faces, the Apple Watch will have its own App Store - making it more independent of the iPhone.
The Apple Watch is also getting a new look under watchOS 6. On the way to greater independence from the iPhone, the popular smartwatch is getting its own app store for the first time. This will be available as a standalone app on the Apple Watch. Search queries can be controlled by Siri. There will also be individual app recommendations. watchOS apps will also become more independent of the iPhone itself - in the future, they will no longer need to have an iOS counterpart.
More for your health
Apple itself provides applications for voice notes, audio live streams and a calculator. The Health app is also being expanded under watchOS 6. The Apple Watch can now track the menstrual cycle. Users will receive a discreet notification when their period begins.
Menstrual cycle tracking should also be available without an Apple Watch - the feature will be included in the Health app of iOS 13. The activity app will have a new feature called Activity Trends, which allows you to compare your progress over time with the past. The new Noise app uses the Apple Watch microphone to monitor ambient noise - users will receive a notification if the decibel level is too high. Apple emphasizes that no audio files are recorded or stored to protect your privacy.
There are also, of course, new watch faces and complications. Among other things, you can choose a new infograph or a solar watch - there is also an audiobook complication. The new watchOS 6 will be available to all users in the fall. (Image: Apple)
