The iOS 16.4 update, due to be released soon, will include voice isolation for mobile calls, Apple announced today.
According to Apple, Voice Isolation will prioritize your voice and block out the ambient noise around you so you can hear the person you're talking to better, and vice versa. Voice Isolation for mobile calls is already available for VoIP calls with FaceTime, WhatsApp, and other apps on devices running iOS 15 or macOS Monterey or later, and is designed to significantly improve microphone quality during calls by suppressing background noise. Until now, the feature was not available for mobile phone calls because Apple did not offer a way to improve call quality.
iOS 16.4: Enable voice isolation for mobile calls
During a FaceTime call, voice isolation can be enabled by activating the Control Center, tapping the Microphone Mode option, and then selecting the Voice Isolation option. In summary, iOS 16.4 update brings many improvements and innovations for iPhone and Co. Particularly interesting is the introduction of voice isolation for mobile calls, which significantly improves the quality of phone calls and blocks out annoying background noise. The function was previously only available for VoIP calls, but will now also be available for mobile phone calls. In addition to voice isolation, iOS 16.4 also offers new emojis, push notifications for web apps, bug fixes for HomeKit and other improvements. Overall, the user experience is even more pleasant and convenient thanks to the update. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
