Apple will release iOS 15.4, macOS Monterey 12.3 and more worldwide next week. The current release candidate versions of iPhone, iPad and Mac contain an interesting feature in this country that was not communicated by Apple: Visual Lookup!
iOS 15.4 includes a number of notable new features. Perhaps the biggest change is support for Face ID when wearing a mask. While Apple introduced support for unlocking the Apple Watch on the iPhone last year, it's now clear that this was originally just a stopgap solution. iOS 15.4 offers a far more advanced solution for using Face ID with a mask. Apple explains that it scans the "unique features around the eye area" to authenticate you with Face ID while wearing a mask.
iOS 15.4: Apple submits “Visual Lookup” in Germany
But that's not all. As has now become known, the "Visual Lookup" function has been integrated into the RC versions of iOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3. The feature was presented at WWDC 2021 and introduced in the USA with iOS 15. Apple describes the function as follows:
Visual Lookup lets you learn more about landmarks, art, plants, animals, and other objects that appear in your photos or on the web.
However, the feature will not be available on all devices. To use “Visual Lookup”, you will need a Mac with Apple Silicon. As for the iPhone, devices from the iPhone XR, XS and SE 2020 or newer are supported. Are you looking for new accessories?
