Apple released a number of new beta versions yesterday evening, including tvOS 14.5. Now clues have been discovered in the code that suggest a new remote control.
Apple released the sixth beta version of tvOS 14.5 on Tuesday. According to iOS developer Steve Moser The update contains code strings that suggest a new Apple TV remote could be in the works. In the latest beta, there is reportedly a code that prompts a user to "press the center button or touch surface to continue." But there is no so-called center button on the current Apple TV remotes. Apple has already replaced the term "Siri Remote" with "Apple TV Remote" throughout the operating system in the fifth tvOS 14.5 beta replaced.
tvOS 14.5 Beta Could Confirm Previous Rumors
This beta also contained references to a "gen3 Apple TV Remote". Interestingly, there have been several reports that Apple is working on the sixth generation of the Apple TV. As part of this update, the remote control is to be fundamentally revised. The rumor was recently documented again. If the rumor mill is to be believed, the accessory could have a U1 chip. The design, however, remains unclear for the time being. The TV box itself is said to be largely similar to its predecessor on the outside. However, significantly more power and storage space is to be integrated inside. When the supposed Apple TV 6 could be presented is not known. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
