It's like last year - after countless rumors and speculations, icons of the iPhone X appeared in the code of the iOS 11 beta, among others. Apple doesn't seem to have learned from this - the same thing is happening again with the iOS 12 beta.
It happened as it had to happen, the guys from 9to5Mac found the icon for the new iPad Pro in the fifth beta of iOS 12. It confirms the speculations surrounding the design of the upcoming Apple tablet.
The files found in the battery usage section show the device with a nearly bezel-less design and, as expected, without a home button.
Like the iPhone X, it will have a TrueDepth camera and will therefore use FaceID. The lack of a notch is interesting - Apple seems to have integrated the camera directly into the edge. The icon called HLSipad2 is the successor to the HLSipad icon - the home screen appears to remain the same.
It remains unclear whether the headphone jack will really be removed. Apple will most likely present the new iPad in the fall. Let's see what the code reveals by then.
