Apple released new beta versions for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Apple Watch this evening. You can find out all the new features in the second preview of iOS 13.3 below.
Under the first beta of iOS 13.3 The communication limit feature was introduced under Screen Time. Users also have the option to turn off Memoji stickers within the keyboard. Overall, the new functions are limited. But that is because iOS 13.3 is mainly intended to provide a performance boost. However, there is one new feature worth mentioning in the second preview of the upcoming iPhone operating system.
support for FIDO2
Under iOS 13.3, Safari for iPhone and iPad will receive support for NFC, USB and Lightning FIDO2 compatible security keys. This is what Apple's iOS 13.3 documentation says:
"iOS 13.3 now supports NFC, USB, and Lightning FIDO2 compliant security keys in Safari, SFSafariViewController, and ASWebAuthenticationSession using the WebAuthn standard on devices with the required hardware capabilities."
There are now plenty of such security keys, but not all of them are compatible with an iPhone, as they currently have a Lightning port. The first provider was Yubico, which developed a security key with USB-C and Lightning connector - particularly interesting for Apple users. Due to both connectors, the security key can be used with iPhone, iPad and Mac. The Yubico Yubikey 5Ci can currently be purchased on Amazon for around 69 euros.
