Tomorrow is that time again – World Emoji Day. To mark the occasion, Apple has presented 59 new emojis in detail and announced them for this autumn.
Some people hate them, others can't live without them - emojis. This year, the popular emoji characters will also take people with disabilities into account. These include a guide dog, an ear with a hearing aid, wheelchairs and prosthetic arms and legs. The new variations will finally close a large gap in the emoji selection. Apple has also announced a major update for the "Holding Hands" emoji. From autumn, users will be able to choose any combination of skin tone and gender - there will be more than 75 options.
230 different figurines
Furthermore, new animals will be added to the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. For example, there will be an otter, a sloth, a baboon, a flamingo and a skunk. New items of clothing such as a one-piece swimsuit are also to follow. Of course, the food section will also be expanded. A total of 59 new emojis are to be released in iOS 13. To be precise, there are 230 different figures when gender and skin color are taken into account. Apple has not commented on whether the emojis will be released in iOS 13 or iOS 13.1 - it can be assumed that Apple will release the new faces in iOS 13.1 - as it did last year in iOS 12.1.
