After Apple introduced the new operating systems this evening, a list of compatible devices was published.
When Apple released watchOS 5 last year, support for the original Apple Watch (1st generation, also known as Series 0) was discontinued. This year, nothing changes – watchOS 6 supports the same Apple Watch hardware as watchOS 5, meaning Apple Watch Series 1 users will also be able to access the latest software when it is released.
Apple notes that not all features in watchOS 6 will be available on all Apple Watches that can run the software, but is not providing any details for now. watchOS 6 is compatible with Series 1, 2, 3, and 4 and requires an iPhone 6s or later. Here is a summary of watchOS 6. (Image: Apple)
