The past few days have been very exciting for Apple TV+. In addition to several announcements regarding new series and a multi-year contract with actress and producer Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the young streaming service has now also received an award.
The Screen Actors Guild Award is a film and television award given annually by the American actors' union (SAG). Membership in the SAG is required in order to work as an actor in the USA. Along with the Golden Globe, the Screen Actors Guild Award is seen as a benchmark for the Oscars that follow. At the 26th Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), Jennifer Aniston received an award for outstanding performance by a female actress in a drama series (The Morning Show - AppleTV+). Alongside Aniston, "The Morning Show" actor Steve Carell (Mitch Kessler) and Billy Crudup (Cory Ellison) were also present.
Already the second award for Apple TV+
However, neither of them were able to win the award for themselves - the category for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series went to Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones). Apple TV+ has thus already won its second award. In addition to Aniston, actor Billy Crudup (Cory Ellison) also received the Critics Choice Award for best supporting actor in a drama series last month. Apple has not yet confirmed whether "The Morning Show" will get a second season - but according to a rumor, the sequel is already in the planning stages. (Image: Apple TV+)
