Apple originally introduced the HomePod at WWDC 2017. The market launch was planned for December 2017. It only went on sale in this country on June 18, 2018.
Now Cupertino has turned the price screw - a somewhat unusual step. Apple has officially reduced the price of the HomePod worldwide. Apple's speaker is now available in the USA for 299 instead of 349 US dollars. This means that the Siri speaker has fallen below the 300 US dollar mark for the first time. In this country, the HomePod can now be purchased for 329 instead of 349 euros. Whether the price reduction will increase sales of the Siri speaker remains to be seen.
The HomePod has faced a lot of criticism, but Apple has fixed many of the issues at the time in various software updates and made improvements, including AirPlay 2 integration for multi-room and stereo pairings, support for setting multiple timers at once with Siri, the ability to answer and make calls, calendar integration, and more. The HomePod has received the most praise for its sound quality.
