Apple unexpectedly rolled out iOS 13.7 this evening. The update is specifically aimed at the area of “motion notifications”.
Apple has released iOS 13.7 completely unexpectedly. The focus of the update is on expanding the COVID-19 API. According to Apple, the update will give users the option to opt in to COVID-19 notifications (motion alerts) without having to download an app from their local health authority. The update description states:

With iOS 13.7, you can opt into the COVID-19 notification system without downloading an app. Availability of the system depends on support from your local health authority. For more information, see covid19.apple.com. This version also includes other bug fixes for your iPhone.
Accordingly, iOS 13.7 is currently being rolled out and should be available for download in the next few hours. The whole thing can be downloaded via the iOS settings in the "Software" update area. iPadOS 13.7 was also released, which contains bug fixes and performance improvements. UPDATE – iOS 13.7 was originally available for download to regular users. However, this has now been changed so that the new version is currently available to registered developers. It is not known whether this was initially a mistake. If this changes, we will update the article again.
