Tom Gruber was the last remaining Siri co-founder at Apple. Now, after more than 8 years, he too has left, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed to the magazine The Information.
Siri Inc. was founded by Dag Kittlaus, Adam Cheyer and Tom Gruber in 2007. When the voice control Siri appeared in the AppStore in 2010, Apple bought it just two months after its release and removed the app from the store. The takeover is said to have cost 200 million US dollars. Siri was introduced by Apple during a keynote in autumn 2011. Kittlaus and Cheyer left Apple in 2011 and 2012 to start their own company again.
Siri development fell far behind the competition, which is why Apple restructured and rebuilt the team several times, but Siri is still considered a software construction site for the company. Now we can only hope that Siri will make progress under the new leadership of John Giannandrea and become more useful in the future.
