Apple has updated its Shortcuts app today – also known as Shortcuts. Version 2.2 brings some new features.
The automation tool Shortcuts has been given additional functions in version 2.2. Among other things, entries can now be created, searched, displayed and updated in the Notes app. If the command "Get numbers from input" is executed, the app extracts numbers from text. In addition, further information on routes, arrival times and distances can be retrieved. In addition to new features, the update also contains minor improvements in terms of usability and performance.
Additionally, Apple has fixed a number of bugs, including the Library tab.
Shortcuts briefly explained
The Shortcuts app can be used on iPhones and iPads with iOS 12. It allows you to create workflows that range from simple to complex. These can then be activated using Siri voice commands. The app itself is based on Workflow, an iOS application that was taken over by Apple. The processes can be very different and can be customized in great detail. The fact that these commands can work across apps makes these shortcuts so useful. Apple has also provided examples in image galleries within the application.
