Apple today updated Shazam for iOS with a new look, modernizing the user interface and bringing the design language in line with recent Apple Music user interface updates.
After launching the app, the screen is dominated by the central "Tap to Shazam" button, with access to recently identified music revealed by unfolding it. Apple has also added the ability to identify songs via a web browser for the first time. The web version is now available in beta at Shazam.com. Last month, the company announced that Shazam has more than 200 million monthly active users across its iOS and Android apps. Apple acquired the music recognition service in 2017, citing synergies with its music business. Thanks to the new interface, Shazam feels more in tune with modern iOS design trends.
